Dr. Ogechi E. Anyanwu is an Assistant professor of History at Eastern Kentucky University. He received his Ph.D. in African history at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. He holds a Masters degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy and a Bachelor of History degree, both from Nigeria, and has previously taught at Imo State University, Owerri.
Dr. Anyanwu specializes in modern African history, and his primary research interests and focus have been on the intersection of ethnicity, religion, society, and external forces with particular interest in the history and politics of education and Islam during the colonial and post-colonial periods. He has published in the areas of Islam, education, and politics, and has presented several professional papers at local and international conferences. His professional affiliations include the African Studies Association, Igbo Studies Association, and Historical Society of Nigeria. |
