Dr. Anthony Olorunnisola is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Film-Video and Media Studies at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, U.S.A. He is a William J. Fulbright alumnus whose publications on media in African transitional societies that include Nigeria and South Africa (two of Africa's largest transitional democracies); have appeared in several local and international journals and textbooks.

He is editor of "Media in South Africa after Apartheid: A Cross-Media Assessment" (Edwin Mellen Press) and co-editor of "Political Economy of Media in Post-Apartheid South Africa" (Hampton Press, forthcoming). A routine reviewer for many academic journals, Dr. Olorunnisola also sits on the editorial board of the African Journal of Communications.
